November 14 AWANA

The children had fun in AWANA on November 14th. The Cubbies' snack was little vanilla turkey cookies with icing and candy corn feathers. The game was called "Swat the Fly". One person tried to touch everyone with a stick, duster, or anything that is long and slender.

October 24th Game Time

New game at Game Time!

Awana members had fun at game time learning a new game called hula racing. To play the game, three people must stay inside one hula hoop and race against other people in hula hoops. Whoever crosses the finish line and makes it back to their team wins.

Remember that the Harvest Party is this Wednesday night from 6:15 - 7:50. Children are invited to dress up as their favorite Bible characters. Bring your friends! All children will receive a bag of goodies to bring home. See you all there!

This week, the Truth in Training class learned about international missions in South Korea. We talked about what Baptist missionaries are doing in Seoul, and how Jesus has called all Christians (young or old) to be missionaries. Finally, the class saw a DVD about our mission field and how they can become missionaries in their own schools and community.

The Cubbies could choose from things in several different award bins. Cubbies bought items with AWANA bucks, which are earned for bringing their Bible, wearing their uniform, learning memory verses, and good behavior.

The Cubbies had fun shopping at the store.

Punch balls, Frisbees, sunglasses, and bouncing balls were popular items.

What is AWANA?

Awana is a children's ministry which helps local churches reach children and youth with the gospel and trains them to know, love and serve Christ.

Awana blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun. Awana classes are held for children between the ages of 3 through 6th grade. In addition, one council time per month is set aside for teaching kids about missions and the importance of spreading God's word around the world.

Additional information on AWANA is available on the http://www.awana.org/ web site.
